Summer Reading Program
DIG INTO READING!
Programs begin June 6, 2013
June Sessions: Thursday afternoons from 2:00-3:00 p.m.
Open to all ages
June 6th: Bug in A Bag! Join bug expert Dr. Tom Turpin from Purdue University as he shows us just how really cool bugs are.
June 13th: Dig Into Gardening Day! We will be painting flower pots and planting Marigolds(Please wear old clothes)
June 20th: Dig Into Game Day! A treasure hunt for younger children and a survival game for older children plus a round of Trivia
June 27th: Dig Into Craft Day! Make a variety of crafts such as a license plate, caveman art, a bark book, and a flower.
SUMMER READING INFORMATION FOR ALL AGES:

Summer Reading Program runs from June 3rd through July 26.
How many minutes/titles am I required to read?
PreK-5th grade: 500 minutes ( Preschoolers can count the minutes they are read to)
6th-12th grade: 700 minutes(These minutes count towards the 1000 minutes that Mrs. Costello is challenging her students to read over the summer)
Age 18 & up: 10 titles
Those participating in the summer reading program will record their minutes or titles on the calendar provided by the library. Calendars may be picked up on or after June 3rd.
Children who have read the required minutes and turned in their calendars on time will receive an invitation to the Summer Reading Party and have their names put in for a drawing for prizes.
Adults(age 18 or older) who have read the required number of titles and turned in their calendars on time will have their name put in for a drawing for prizes.
