Celebrate 100 Years of Library Service

Kentland Public Library opened it’s doors on January 26, 1912 at 2:00 p.m. On January 26, 2012 stop by the library for punch & cookies furnished by the Friends of the Library.

Throughout 2012 the library will be hosting activities celebrating 100 years of library service to the Kentland community. Watch for information on upcoming events.

Checkers Tournament

Students in 3rd thru 5th grade are invited to attend Mrs. B’s Book Break beginning January 26, 2012 from 4:00 to 4:30 p.m. Refreshments served. Take a break from homework and enjoy listening to a great story. No registration required just come to the library on Jan. 26th to find out what novel Mrs. B picked out to read!

Counted Cross Stitch Classes

Counted Cross Stitch sessions resume on January 9 & 16 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. If you were not able to attend either the November 21 or November 28 sessions contact the library to add your name to the list. Join Instructor Sharon Rardon on learning the art of counted cross stitch.

Get an early start on a 4-H or Open Class fair exhibit!

Classes are open to anyone in grade 3 through adult and are Free!

Instruction is geared to first-time cross stitchers. Materials to learn the basic skills will be provided. Participants will complete at least one project and exhibit it next July at the Newton County Punkin Vine Fair either in 4-H Needle Craft or in Open Class Domestic Arts.

Classes are sponsored by Purdue Extension-Newton County and Kentland Library.
